My Work.

Throughout the years I’ve been super blessed to be able to work with so many talented people! I’m beyond thankful for all the opportunities my makeup artistry career has brought me to till this day. Not only to be able to create glamorous looks which I’m so passionate about. My career has also given me the opportunities to travel, meet all kinds of new people from all different cities, countries & backgrounds. Oddly it’s also forced me to better my Spanish ha! But mostly I’m super  thankful to have the relationships I have with all my clients. From my A1 – Day 1’s to my currents clients – Thank you! I don’t know where I would be without you guys. 🙏

heart, makeup by ade, makeupbyade,

When I first started my search in becoming a makeup artist (not too long ago ha). My ultimate dream was to the chance to work a red carpet. I remember flipping through the pages of Vanity Fair or the US Weekly after any award ceremony –  Billboards, MTV Music Awards, The Oscars, Emmy’s (remember when that was a thing est 1999 – now we just go to Getty Images ha) while my mom & I waited in line to pay for our groceries. I would just flip page thru page; quickly before checkout just to check out the glam looks and fashion trends. Literally just in awe every time.

I really knew I wanted to be a part of that world; I just didn’t know how. I learned about Kevyn Aucoin and Sam Fine when I was in my later teens (and already a mommy). The internet wasn’t popping then (I’m talking AIM days). Researching these makeup artist’s wasn’t an easy task. I had to go reference on magazine ad spreads, red carpet breakdowns (where they would label the artist and the key products right at the bottom of the photo?). Even though these makeup artist’ styles were different; I was very drawn to both of their styles of glam, mega clean (never harsh lines), beautiful, sleek and chic! Overall it’s something I really wanted to study! Then I found out about; “Making Faces” … and honestly… looking back; that book really did change my life.

I believe for all artists, in whatever media you choose; it’s a tough career. Following your dream & living the life of an artist includes numerous long hours, requires a ton of behind the scene work, its IS a hustle – don’t get it twisted, you will be criticized, many won’t or maybe just can’t understand the happiness  of waking up and being capable of working in the field of creative expression … sometimes it can be monetarily unstable; but what I can say for certain, it is so utterly soul gratifying. There’s nothing more I love to do and makes my heart happier! Although I believe I’m just getting started in my career, I’m very proud of my achievements and I can’t wait to see what’s next! 🖤
