Maybe I’m being a bit bias here but like …
the 90’s WAS my era!
Not like i haven’t given out my age already but ha! Real talk?
I get so excited seeing today’s youth in stuff that brings me back so many memories!? Things I also had in my closet?
Chokers, gems and butterfly clips?!? Stappppp!!!
Took my butt to amazon real quick once i peeped what was going haha!– As seen here also on this blog post –
So where am I going?!
If there’s something I remember clearly in my youth? If we were stepping out to a friends party ready to like line dance pero to freestyle jams like Lisa Lisa, TKA , Stevie B – cause Miami?
You better believe your girl had that white & black liner combo ha!!
Mad tight-lined too and well … in those days; it would’ve been a Jordana white wooden $0.99 pencil (burning with a lighter before applying – to ensure when drying it became like waterproof – so we thought)
– or –
Prestige – Liquid White Eyeliner (whatttttt this was the funk – not sure where it went DANG what a memory – s**t was like a liquid white out lol!!)
Omgggg remember white out on the nails?!? haha i can’t! hahah
MOVING ALONG… A.D.D Realness!
So yeah we had the double liner!
We also didn’t have brows? Partial reason why I personally think I don’t have many brows till this day! Advance tip?
When tweezing in teens?! Don’t go plucking cray!
Man… did we over-pluck … for that matter I don’t even think we used a brow pencil – then again at that time I was also pretty young so it’s fair to say I probably used Maybelline Clear Mascara to keep them, 7 hairs in place no doubt!
For shadows? It was either really colorful, usually one to two shades max; pretty blended out into the brow bone – normally shimmery shades too or bare with only white shadow?
Again I was in my teens so that was our jam?
As for my chuch ass top! I mean come on?! Smiley and sheer?!? The heat in Miami is real!! And the inspo for this glam!
H&M x Smiley World – Cropped Mesh Top.
For this glam?
I wanted to channel the 90’s with today’s glam spin.
What’s really fabulous?! Now-a-days we actually have pigmented products hahah and products to make the glam application so much easier!!
For shadow? P.LOUISE Coloured Eye Bases in Vivid Violet – $13
Kept it technically “light” only using one cream shadow – P.LOUISE Coloured Eye Bases in Vivid Violet – (which if you guys have not gotten your hands on this product … this is not sponsored – I bought a whole bunch of them during Christmas time & I’m so happy I did)
These colored bases are so pigmented a little goes a long way and dry completely waterproof /smudge proof they’re stunning!
This Vivid Violet shade is a soft lilac when blended out (for reference my eyelid were prepped with some concealer as a carved out my brows). Blends absolutely beautifully used a 217 Mac fluffy blending brush into the crease and set with translucent powder to ensure it would not go anywhere.
Ironically? I didn’t have white liner handy (in my personal kit) plus I recently moved; my glam space is pretty tight now – I’ve had to really condense my things – backups are not here sonnnn lol!!
My white liner sadly dried out but I DID have white shadow? Hmmm. So why not make it happen?!
Pro Tip & exactly what I did!!
Didn’t have liner but I did have a white pigmented matte shadow?! Was pretty set on getting that double liner going! Unfortunately the shadow I used; is completely discontinued but in reality any white shadow would work! Sephora – Single Shadow: Color: 201 “Let It Snow” – $9.00
This Sephora matte shadow is a good reference and easy on the wallet! Because I’m never happy to scrape my shadows all the time ya dig?!
On a mixing palette? Scraped off some white shadow or if you have loose white pigment? Whatever works!
And a pro product here but can be purchased for everyone?
FACE Atelier’s – Transforming Gel – $30
Uffff this is a product that is just so amazing!
This Transforming Gel makes any loose pigment, loose powder, broken eyeshadows you name it into liner and not only liner but mega waterproof!
Honestly I think every makeup artist should have this in their kit! Has saved my days many times!
As in the photo above I started with the white liner first as essentially it was an experiment I wanted to see how it would dry out first! Plus it was pretty pigmented as I applied on top of the shadow? That’s pretty impressive! – itss white!!?!?
Gave it a moment to dry and then later came with a black liner!
Inglot – AMC Gel Liner – Black #77 – $16.44
The daddy of liners in my humble opinion! And of course I had to wing them both! And as you all may have noticed I love mea good chunky winged liner – Amy Winehouse vibes – but honestly this favors my eye shape quite alot!
Something I wish I would’ve known in the 90s ha!!
To keep the 90’s vibe going?!
You know I HAD to have the chunky lashes! Listen? Falsies weren’t a thing?! At least not in my age group! So we had to layer that mascara!! Curl & repeat!Maybelline – Falsies Lash Lift Mascara – $7.86
This Falsies Lash Lift mascara has been my go to lately. Having tiny lashes; this mascara really makes them not only thicker but longer without weighing them down? You know?
Like when you have straight lashes (like me) even if you curl them some mascaras are too heavy? So boom drops the lashes? Yep that doesn’t happen with this mascara – I’m pretty happy with it!! 3rd bottle happy!
Well I did this to my bottom lashes and of course had to add some “light” falsies!
As for the overall glow and also inner corner lid mini highlight cause? Like… why not?
Pixi + Hello Kitty – Highlighting Pressed Powder “Sweet Glow” – $18.00
Listen: Quick confession? You know how there’s Disney people? Bueno I’m part of the Hello Kitty people! Ha!
And it doesn’t help that I’m a sucker for cute packing too! So when I saw this Pixi Hello Kitty Collab at Navarro haha! You know … I picked up everything that was there! I mean it wasn’t much, but I was able to pick this up! And I think this highlighter is very chuchi!!
This Pixi + Hello Kitty – Highlighter is not like your typical highlighter – has a bit of pink/blue undertones which gleams like a very pretty fair cool toned pink sheen! Beautiful for targeted highlighting or anywhere! I mean it’s makeup – do what you want boo!
But I love this highlighter! Happy to have it my collection!
To finish off this look!
Went for some soft natural lashes – I mean as natural as it’s gonna be for me that’s for sure! Lol!!KISS Products – So Wispy Lashes “#11” – $10.00
KISS So Wispy Lashes in #11 are still “natural” yet super fun/flirty as they have a wispy effect but also with a slight cat eye effect at the ends – making it a soft natural personal favorite but also for my kit!
Pichu , Momma & Flannys A WHOLE Vibe ♥
Def doesn’t take me a lot to rock colorful shadows?
Ha! But I’ll tell you what?
It’s definitely not going to be the last time I double wing it! Ha!
Thanks for tuning in!
