What better way to close off the year then by sharing some amazing beauty products I discovered this year! Keeping it short, sweet & simple to just 5 beauty products & that I’ve been literally obsessed with! Ha!
Keeping this short list of beauty products I’m loving this year from all price ranges – from sephora to your local drug store. Not only do I love these products for my professional makeup kit but also personally use for myself (which is alot to say because I normally use drugstore on myself – don’t ask me why cause i really don’t know).
As some background info: I do have premature skin as I’m 37 years old, I do have some texture, cystic hormonal acne and my skin is now more on an oiler side for reference.
Let’s start off this list with a primer that I’ve been mega obsessed since I tested it out on set (thank you alex for this suggestion)Â
1. Milk Makeup – Hydro Grip Primer – Hydrating Face Primer $34
*travel/mini size option .33oz $17
I originally tested out this product in a bridal party gig thanks to Alex @tinymealex .She was carrying it in her kit & I was so impressed and let me tell you why….
BUENO! because I tested it out on my hand using it as a “palette” (not to worry sanitized to the ass) and when I layered foundation? It laid so nice! You know, how your hands have texture? Well the foundation was so clean and no lines? I couldn’t believe it so I had to buy it and try it on my face asap!
This Milk Cosmetics Hydro Grip Primer  has a bit of a sticky texture to it which is really nice because it almost grips onto the foundation pero not like cement? It still look’s skin like… I don’t know how Milk Makeup has made this product? Pero! I’m obsessed!
Why do I love this primer? For one it minimizes the pore size around my nose & also minimizes the texture on my skin. This Milk Cosmetics Hydro Grip Primer  also extends my foundation wear for a long-time. I’ve tested this theory with the IT Cosmetics Foundation which has a high SPF which normally tends to not have such a long wear due to SPF thanks to this primer I could rock this foundation shift proof for at least 8 hours!
This milk gripping primer is vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, silicone free it is fragrance-free which I love and also gluten free!
I would say this primer is perfect for all skin types but especially good for textured skin, mature skin, oily skin and combination skin types.
I bought it for my professional kit, a travel-size for my travel kit and I also have a full size for my personal vanity… I’m obsessed!
Well; now that we’re on the topic of Milk Cosmetics haha … how can I not talk about the Milk Cosmetic’s Cream Bronzers.
2. Milk Makeup – Matte Cream Bronzer Stick – $20
I absolutely love how versatile these Milk Cream Bronzers are. Not only can you obviously use it to bronze but you can use it to contour, as body makeup, as an amazing eyeshadow base, & even use it to define the lip line! The possibilities are endless with this cream bronzer!
The texture on these Milk Makeup Bronzers are very creamy ,soft and very easy to blend. These bronzers don’t necessarily need to be set with powder as it dries a beautiful matte finish.
And not for nothing… you get a HUGE bang for your buck with this product! You seriously get so much product it’s crazy ,0.24 oz to be exact. it will take you a while before finishing this product and it’s only $20.
Following the cream product vibe… let’s hit up some blushers!
3. Milani – CHEEK KISS CREAM BLUSH – $6.99 – $9.99
If you’ve been following me on Instagram; you know I’m a huge fan of Cream Blusher, I tend to use Fenty alot but Milani came out with these Cheek Kiss cream blushers that really blew my mind!
Another product that really floored me this year & I too also use in my personal kit as well as my professional kit is the Milani Cheek Kiss cream blushes. I’m floored because first off and foremost the pigments on these cream blushers are so so so good, as well as very easy to blend and dry to a demi satin finish which is lovely and looks like skin.
And let’s talk about the price! The price is absolutely amazing it depending on your location so def shop around but not only is the price of a good price but you’re getting a whole lot of product in these cream blushers too!
4. Skyn Iceland – Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels – $33
*travel size option for 3 patches $18
I’m always the person that’s on the hunt for some really good under eye patches. I have a few favorites that I always carry in my professional kit but this year I discovered these amazing Skyn Iceland under eye patches.
I especially like that these Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye patches are sticky enough where these under eye patches don’t move when working on clients but they also don’t hurt the upon removal – a very good strange as most times you have sliding action with under eye patches.
Not only do these stay put but they’re very hydrating, plumping and nicely cooling (especially great when working in warmer climates). In 15 minutes or less you actually see a difference on the skin texture, fine lines diminish (no seriously), no wipe down necessary and concealer layers beautifully.
5. Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 – $34
*travel size option HERE $20
Last but not least I can’t go without mentioning this as SPF that honestly has changed my life.
Side note: If I can go back in time? I would tell my twenty-year-old self to lather on SPF as much as I apply foundation.. dead ass.
Now; I’ve been on a hunt for a good spf for quite some time & i won’t lie its been quite the challenge. I’ve tried numerous SPF’s from all price ranges but due to my hormonal cystic acne it’s been quite a test. Nine out of 10 times most spf’s tend to break me out and I mean really breakout, itchy acne and etc you get my drift. & thus far this Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen has yet to do it the least.
It would be a blatant lie if I were to say that it didn’t break me out; as anything that clogs my pores does…..(PCOS life is real) but I find that this one does it the least. I don’t get cystic hives, I don’t get that itchy acne I was just mentioning before. Overall that’s a WIN for me.
Layers nicely under foundation. Doesn’t make me extra greasy throughout the day. (you know how some spfs make you have to retouch your makeup alot) I don’t find I have to retouch as much when using this SPF.
Overall I’m happy that I finally tried this SPF out its def a keeper. Finishing up already my second bottle of this year I haven’t turned back since and I am so happy.
