I like to say that the makeup world has become a bit like the technology world, impossible to keep up with but always so much fun to try! Ha!
But in all honesty; makeup has become front and center in the past couple of years and is really just about everywhere, especially in the social media world right? And the more that I’ve looked into; most people assume that “expensive” makeup is always going to be the JAM and that’s not always true!
Makeup/Cosmetics in itself aren’t too expensive to make per say, most of these products from different lines carry if not the same actual ingredients but just with a different marketing label printed on it. Yet the retail suggested price on these makeup products vary from brand-to-brand.
Personally, I have a good amount of affordable makeup products I can’t live without; but for this entry let’s keep it down to 5 affordable makeup products I love!
Carbon Black is not only my personal mascara go to; it’s also a stable in my professional kit. This mascara comes shades, in the darkest black (Carbon Black), black, darkest brown and also blue.
Not only is this mascara pretty affordable retailing from $7.99 – $10.99 depending on your local shop; it’s one of the darkest, richest black mascara I’ve used.
Carbon Black lengthens lashes beautifully too and the dense applicator spoolie coat’s every lash while also voluminzing at the same time. I also especially like that this mascara also comes in a waterproof formula that is just about the same as the original formula (you know how companies make something waterproof but it’s never like the original?) Yeah not this one!
I could go on and on about these eyeliner pencils because I’ve tried all of them and not one has disappointed me. Rimmel Scandal-Eyes Kohl Eye Lineris a waterproof formula that is creamy to the application, easy to blend (smudger included on the opposite side of the pencil) and sets so beautifully!
These pencils also work great as a shadow base; just apply, blend quickly with dense fluffy brush and apply your favorite shadow for an extra uffff!
Less than $5.00, waterproof (and I mean water-PROOF) & comes in many shades? You can’t beat that!
Again another makeup product that you will find all over my kit and in my personal makeup vanity!NYX Slim Lipliner Pencilsare only $4.00 each and till this day are my lipliner “dupes” for Mac Lipliners.
These liners are creamy so the application is great, the color payoff is fabulous and if you set it with some powder? Boom! You got waterproof.
These are wooden lip pencils, so they do require a sharpener which is a plus for me as I really like the pencil to be extra sharp for a perfect over-lined ? application.
I actually tried theseFlower Beauty Blush Bomb’sbecause I was on a hunt for a deep fuchsia blush for a last minute gig and stumbled upon it at Ulta(shade bitten).
After testing it at home, the following day I went back to Ulta to purchase every other color they had lol!
This liquid blusher is great and applies beautifully! The texture is more on a dense liquid side (does that even make sense ha), but no really; it’s not a cream nor liquid-liquid per say; lets just say in-between lol and blends like a DREAM!
Beautiful even applied over powder, does not cake or break/crack your foundation/powder and is beautiful too if applied on its own. Although the line doesn’t have a huge range of colors, they do offer colors that are just about for every skin type. A little goes a long way ,with this product so start light; this product can last you a while!
A cult classic and for good reason Airspun Loose Face Powderis an amazing brightening powder/setting powder which is normally under $8 and not only is it great, you get sooo much of it! 2.3 ounces to be exact!
A quick sizecomparison: Mac Transparent Finishing Loose Powder .32oz Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder 1oz. Anastasia Beverly Hills Loose Setting Powder .88oz Fenty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder .98oz
Airspun 2.3oz
Besides the amount you get which I mean … is pretty impressive in itself. This powder is great!
A very little goes a long way; but do watch out for over-applying as it can dry you up *if you apply too much.
This powder is also lightly scented; like a soft old-school early 90’s grandma feels, but it’s not bad I promise lol! It’s a bit nostalgic I think, and for the price you REALLY can’t beat it!
Honestly, this was harder than I thought because there’s really so many affordable makeup items!
Have you tried any of these items out?! Would love to know what you think of them, and if you have any suggestions of any affordable makeup products? I would love to read them!! Comment them below!!
